This was one of the earliest cassette releases we put out there for public consumption circa 1988. It was never actually 'pressed' or put out on a label, we just duped them ourselves and handed them out to friends. Few remain today. This digital copy was made from one of them.

Some of this cassette, if memory serves, was recorded by our pal Pierre Perrault in an actual studio when he went to recording school in London, Ontario. Some of it we recorded ourselves in our practice space (that infamous Glengarry Chicken Coop, for those who remember the lore). It's pretty raw sounding and you can tell we were just a bunch of teens learning our instruments, playing cheap gear and figuring out how to write songs.

Some of these songs may be familiar to longtime friends and fans. This is a very early demo of 'Arlington Man', for example, which would later appear on 'Blur Your Cool'. 'I'd Tell You' is another example of an early demo that popped up later on. The country-rock tinged 'Proud' is a sweet, lost gem that never surfaced again. 'Rest Assured' was a crowd fave early on and of course, the ever-loved 'Johnny Walker' is here in all its sloppy, out-of-tune, live glory.

At the time we called this cassette: 'Outstanding In The Field'; tongues planted firmly in teenage cheeks, no doubt.
